Shura Secretariat delegation visits Jordanian Senate and House of Representatives

Amman, Sep. 13 (BNA): A delegation from the Secretariat General of the Shura Council carried out a visit to the Senate and the House of Representatives in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The visit aimed to strengthen cooperation with regional and international legislative bodies, exchange expertise, enhance institutional capacities, and review best parliamentary practices.

 

The delegation, headed by Abdulrahim Buchiri, Director of Session Affairs at the Shura Council, was received by Abdul Rahim Al Wakid, Secretary General of the Jordanian Senate, in the presence of Deputy Secretary General Dr. Haitham Al Sarayrah and Advisor Dr. Deema Abu Taleb. Discussions covered the development of Jordan’s legislative life, the Senate’s work in legislation and oversight, and mechanisms for cooperation and knowledge exchange.

 

The delegation also met with Awad Al Ghweiri, Secretary General of the Jordanian House of Representatives, who emphasised the importance of institutional partnership in developing parliamentary work, and strengthening administrative and technical expertise exchange to build national capacities.

 

Abdulrahim Buchiri expressed appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality, commending the progress of parliamentary work in Jordan. He presented an overview of the Shura Council Secretariat’s operations, noting the visit aimed to learn from the Jordanian experience and exchange ideas in support of shared goals.

 

The visit also included a tour of the Senate and House of Representatives facilities, with detailed presentations on the mechanisms of parliamentary sessions and the work of the secretariats.

 

The Shura Council delegation comprised Jawad Mahfoudh and Ali Al Qattan, Committee Affairs Supervisors; Khalid Ahmed, Human Resources Supervisor; Eman Al Hafez, Coordination and Follow up Supervisor; Fatima Al Fadhala, Media and Communications Supervisor; Shorouq Al Shoroqui, Public Relations Specialist; and Ali Al Mail, Accountant.
