Al-Sudani Urges International Community to Shoulder Responsibility for Regional Stability

Baghdad /NINA/ -Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani called on the international community to assume its responsibilities in promoting stability in the region and preventing it from sliding into further wars and crises.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office said that Al-Sudani received, on Saturday, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq, Mohammed Al-Hassan. The meeting discussed the course of cooperation between Iraq and the United Nations, particularly in the fields of economy, development, climate, and environment, within the framework of the agreement to end the mission of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) by the end of this year.

The statement added that the talks also addressed the latest regional developments, foremost among them the ongoing aggression against Gaza and the prevention of humanitarian aid from reaching the Strip, which poses a threat to regional and international security amid attempts to expand the conflict and target Arab and Islamic countries, most recently Qatar./ End
