Iran-Pakistan Joint Economic Commission to be held in Tehran on Monday

Islamabad, IRNA – On the eve of the official visit of the Pakistani Commerce Minister to the Islamic Republic of Iran to participate in the 22nd Joint Economic Commission (JEC) of Iran and Pakistan will be held in Tehran.

Muhammad Mudassir Tipu, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Tehran, said in an interview with IRNA in Islamabad today (Saturday) that Pakistani Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan will pay an official visit to Tehran on Sunday, during which the 22nd Joint Economic Commission of the two countries will be held.

He added that Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh will be the Iranian head of the Joint Economic Commission, and Pakistani Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan will chair the meeting of the Joint Economic Commission.

The Pakistani ambassador said that the business conference of the two countries will also be held with the participation of 100 economic activists, heads of chambers of commerce and investment companies of the two countries.

“All issues related to bilateral relations in the fields of trade, economy, border activities, transportation, people to people relations, and energy have been discussed in detail in the meetings of the Joint Commission and the Business forum, and it is expected that favorable agreements will be reached by senior Iranian and Pakistani officials,” he emphasized.

In light of the recent agreement between the leaders of Iran and Pakistan during the recent visit of President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian to Islamabad to increase the volume of joint trade to $10 billion, holding the joint economic commission will greatly help achieve this goal.

Meeting with senior officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the First Vice President, will be among the other programs of the Pakistani Commerce Minister in Tehran.
