Kyrgyzstan creates conditions for year-round tourism

Bishkek, Sept. 11, 2025 /Kabar/. The Department of Tourism of Kyrgyzstan intends to increase the flow of tourists by 10% every year, head of the department, Erdenet Kasymov, told.

He noted that Kyrgyzstanis themselves are witnessing how airports, roads are being built, 5-star hotels, recreation areas are opening, reserves, natural parks, and so on are being built.

“Favorable conditions are being created for tourists, let's say, the market is being diversified. The main flow of tourists comes in the summer, we are now working to ensure that tourists actively visit our country in the winter and off-season. As part of the adopted program for the development of the country, the head of state noted that the future of the state lies in production and tourism.

In this regard, a plan is being developed to implement this program until 2030, which outlines measures such as optimizing public administration in the tourism sector, improving the tourism market, introducing modern green technologies using digitalization, preserving the environment, historical and cultural heritage, developing regions and ensuring the safety of tourists, ”the director said.

According to Kasymov, over six months, the share of the tourism industry in the GDP structure was 4.3%.

“By 2030, we want to bring this figure to 7%. The country has begun implementing the program “40 tourism projects in 40 districts”. Today, the number of tourist sites has reached 63. Many have already begun to operate, the remaining 22 will start operating by the end of the year,” he informed.
