South Korea donates to Kyrgyzstan innovative equipment for child rehabilitation

Bishkek, Sept. 11, 2025 /Kabar/. A handing over ceremony of innovative rehabilitation equipment Rebless™ Planar was held at the National Center for Maternal and Child Health in Bishkek.

The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic said that the delivery was carried out through humanitarian assistance with the assistance of KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) and H Robotics. The cost of the set is $150,000.

Kyrgyz Minister of Health Erkin Checheibaev expressed gratitude to the Korean government, KOICA and H Robotics for their consistent support for the development of medical rehabilitation in Kyrgyzstan. "This equipment will expand children's access to modern methods of rehabilitation treatment and improve the effectiveness of medical care," the minister said.

Rebless™ Planar is a robotic trainer for the rehabilitation of the upper limb, used to restore movement and strength in patients after neurological and orthopedic diseases.

"Robotics devices have yielded good results. The practice of use has shown an improvement in motor functions in patients, a reduction in recovery time and an increase in the quality of life. In 2024, more than 1,000 children suffering from chronic diseases underwent rehabilitation treatment. The new supply will expand rehabilitation programs for children," said Shairbek Sulaimanov, Director of the National Center for Comprehensive Medical and Orthopedic Health.

In 2024, H Robotics donated 20 units of Rebless™ to Kyrgyzstan, funded by the Korea Public Procurement Service and the Korea Purchasing Institute. The equipment was distributed to the National Center for Health and Medical Care, Kyrgyz State Medical Academy, National Hospital, Jalal-Abad Interregional Rehabilitation Center “Bakyt” and Issyk-Kul Regional United Hospital, the report says.
