Kyrgyzstan hosts organic products festival in Talas region

Bishkek, Sept.11,2025 /Kabar/. Special Representative of the President of Kyrgyzstan for the Implementation of the Five Years of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions Dinara Kemelova took part in the organic products festival "Shirge Zhiyar", in the village of Kopuro-Bazar in Talas region.

The event was also attended by a representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Kyrgyzstan, representatives of local authorities, the diplomatic corps and associations promoting organic farming.

The farms and companies from Talas, Jalal-Abad and Issyk-Kul regions presented organic products, which are supplied both to the domestic market and abroad - to China, Europe, the USA and the Middle East.

In her speech, Dinara Kemelova focused on the Five Years of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions for 2023-2027, which pays special attention to the development of organic aimaks (village councils), expansion of greenhouse farms, implementation of measures to preserve the harvest, and also emphasized that organic production today is not just a branch of agriculture, but a strategically important element of caring for the health of the nation, environmental protection and sustainable development. And the growing global demand for environmentally friendly products opens up unique opportunities for Kyrgyzstan to enter international markets.

The festival guests could taste and purchase organic products, as well as get familiar with the "organic aimak" model using the example of the Kopuro-Bazar and Taldy-Bulak aimaks of the Talas region.

As part of the event, the participants also visited farms that have successfully implemented organic production technologies "BIO KG" with the support of FAO.

They were among the first in Kyrgyzstan to implement the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) in accordance with the standards of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM).
