Oil Ministry Discusses Prospects For Cooperation With US Company In Refinery Development

Baghdad / NINA /- The Ministry of Oil discussed with the U.S. company KBR prospects for enhancing cooperation in developing Iraqi refineries, as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen the refining sector and boost its efficiency.

A ministry statement said that the Deputy Minister for Refining Affairs, Adnan Mohammed Hamoud, received a delegation from KBR at his office, stressing the ministry’s keenness to expand its partnerships with reputable international companies and benefit from their expertise in engineering management and modern technologies.

Hamoud noted that cooperation with international companies contributes to consolidating the achievements made in the refining sector and adds real value to the national economy.

The statement added that the two sides discussed prospects for joint cooperation in developing Iraqi refineries, in addition to reviewing ongoing projects and future plans aimed at increasing refining capacities and achieving self-sufficiency in petroleum products. /End
