U.S. Treasury Secretary holds meeting with Saudi businessmen
Jeddah, July 14, SPA -- U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner held
a meeting with Saudi businessmen at Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and
Industry today.
During the meeting, the U.S. Treasury Secretary delivered a speech in
which he praised the economic ties between the United States of
America and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in particular and the Gulf
Cooperation Council states in general, describing these ties as part
of the strong strategic partnership between the United States and GCC
states.
"The United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have a long legacy
of economic relations", he said.
U.S. Treasury Secretary spoke about the strategy he suggest that it
plays an important role in the economic recovery, reviewing the
efforts made by the United States so far to address the global
financial crisis.
He also hailed the important steps taken by the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia to combat the financing of terrorist groups and the spread of
nuclear weapons.
