Al-Sudani from Brussels: Iraq is a Pillar of Regional Security and Stability

Baghdad/NINA/ Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani affirmed that Iraq has become a pivotal pillar in strengthening security and stability across the region, stressing that the country has overcome the various challenges it faced in past years.

A statement from his media office said that Al-Sudani met on Monday, in the Belgian capital Brussels, with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, where they discussed bilateral relations between Iraq and the NATO Mission in Baghdad.

Al-Sudani expressed his appreciation for Rutte’s invitation to attend the meetings of the North Atlantic Council, emphasizing that Iraq’s social cohesion remains a source of strength. He also underscored the importance of the international community assuming its responsibilities to stop the ongoing war and grave violations in Gaza.

For his part, the NATO Secretary-General praised Iraq’s role in consolidating regional security, lauding the Iraqi government’s efforts in managing various files and the significant progress achieved, as well as the strong support extended to the NATO Mission in Iraq./ End
