Red Sea Film Foundation Showcases Supported Works at Venice Film Festival

Jeddah, August 26, 2025, SPA -- The Red Sea Film Foundation is participating in the Venice Film Festival, scheduled from August 27 to September 6, with a selection of films and specialized activities. The participation reflects the foundation’s commitment to supporting emerging cinematic voices from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, and across Africa and Asia.
CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation Faisal Baltyuor expressed pride in the presence of five supported films across the festival’s sections, noting that this strengthens the foundation’s role as an active partner in fostering creative cinema. He added that the selection of two additional projects for major industry programs underscores the depth of the foundation’s international presence.
In addition to official screenings, the foundation will participate in the festival’s specialized programs with Sofia Alaoui’s Tarfaya, featured in the “Supplementary Funding Market,” and Hugo Salvaterra’s My Semba, included in the “Final Cut” program.
Marking its fourth year of partnership with the festival, the foundation will also award a cash prize to support a project in the post-production stage.
