Ombudsman Office receives US Congress delegation

Manama, Aug. 26 (BNA): The Office of the Ombudsman received a delegation from the United States Congress, comprising members of both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

The US delegation was briefed on the office's mandate and responsibilities, including its role in receiving complaints and grievances from individuals and entities. The presentation also highlighted the achievements of the office in promoting transparency, ensuring accountability, and safeguarding rights.

The meeting further underlined the Ombudsman’s commitment to welcoming such visits, which play an important role in exchanging expertise and building channels of communication with relevant international institutions.
