Celebration Meeting of Agricultural Workers Held in DPRK

 Pyongyang, August 14 (KCNA) -- Agricultural workers and members of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) met at the hall of culture in Yonthan County, North Hwanghae Province of the DPRK on Wednesday to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation.
Present at the meeting were Han Kwang Ho, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, officials of the UAWK and agricultural workers.
Han Jong Hyok, chairman of the UAWK Central Committee, made a report to be followed by speeches.
The reporter and speakers said that August 15, when President Kim Il Sung accomplished the historic cause of national liberation, was the day when he put an end to the distress-torn history and brought about a turn in carving out the destiny of the country and its people.
They noted that the President regarded the peasants as the main force of the revolution, wrote a new history of the Juche-oriented peasant movement and put them forward as the masters of the land and the country after its liberation.
They said that Chairman Kim Jong Il, with his will to glorify the immortal exploits of the President for national liberation for all ages, firmly defended socialism of Juche and ushered in a new era of building a thriving nation with his energetic revolutionary leadership.
They said that the whole country is pulsating with the revolutionary spirit of Mt Paektu and the spirit of all-people general advance to bring about the comprehensive national rejuvenation is growing thanks to the seasoned and experienced leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
The reporter and speakers called upon all the officials of the union and agricultural workers to greet the 9th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea as the one of victors and glory with increased grain production. -0-
