National Sci-tech Presentations in Fields of Nonferrous Metal Industry and Electronics Held in DPRK

 Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- National sci-tech presentations in the fields of nonferrous metal industry and electronics took place from July 22 to 24 under the sponsorship of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.
The national sci-tech presentation in the field of nonferrous metal industry was aimed to share and generalize the successes and experience gained in increasing smelting yield and the quality of products by expanding the production capacity and actively introducing advanced technology, true to the decisions of the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
The State Academy of Sciences, Tanchon Smeltery, Munphyong Smeltery, Manpho Smeltery and Kim Chaek University of Technology put forward dozens of valuable proposals conducive to consolidating the foundations for producing nonferrous metals and realizing the domestic production of equipment and materials.
The national sci-tech presentation in the field of electronics held on the theme of "Domestic production of core electronic elements and quality improvement of electronic materials and devices" was attended by scientists, researchers and technicians of Kim Il Sung University, Huichon University of Technology and Pyongyang Automation Appliances Factory.
Many proposals drew the attention of the participants as they solved the scientific and technological problems arising in studying and developing advanced electronic materials, modernizing the production lines of electronic elements and making various kinds of electronic products in a qualitative way.
During the period, there were a technical lecture on lead and zinc smelting and the world trend of development of the production of high-power thyristors and the visit to their production lines.
Meanwhile, a meeting was held to review the technical innovation contest to solve the problems arising in increasing the variety of core electronic elements and household electric appliances and improving their quality. -0-
