Two New Awards Raise Saudi Arabia's Tally at ISEF to 25 International Achievements

Riyadh, July 24, 2025, SPA -- Students Misk Al-Mutairi and Raghad Al-Sheikh added two international awards to Saudi Arabia's tally at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF 2025), after winning special prizes from the American Chemical Society in recognition of the excellence of their scientific projects.
Their achievement raised the Kingdom's total awards in the competition from 23 to 25. The event was held in Columbus, Ohio, in May, with the participation of over 1,700 students from 70 countries.
The recognition marks a continuation of the Kingdom's successive scientific achievements in this year's fair, where Saudi students secured a total of 25 international awards — 14 grand awards and 11 special awards — following the addition of the two special prizes won by Al-Mutairi and Al-Sheikh from the American Chemical Society.
The American Chemical Society holds a distinguished global standing in the field of chemistry and annually presents special awards at ISEF to support outstanding scientific projects and encourage talented students to innovate in chemistry and related sciences.
Saudi Arabia has participated in ISEF since 2007, represented by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) and the Ministry of Education. It earned a total of 185 international awards, including 124 grand awards and 61 special awards.
The awards reflect the effectiveness of investing in talent discovery and development programs, strengthening the Kingdom's global competitiveness in science, engineering, and innovation.
