Bahrain’s Ambassador to Egypt attends urgent meeting on Gaza humanitarian situation

Cairo, July 22 (BNA): Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, Ambassador of Bahrain to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, participated in the extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent delegates. The meeting was held at the Arab League General Secretariat in Cairo, following a request from the State of Palestine, to discuss the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip amid ongoing Israeli aggression and blockade.
The meeting addressed urgent Arab measures to respond to the humanitarian crisis faced by civilians in Gaza, including ensuring the flow of humanitarian and relief aid, and pursuing effective diplomatic action in international forums to achieve a ceasefire, lift the blockade, and ensure respect for international humanitarian law.
The Council noted the importance of the upcoming international conference hosted by the United Nations on July 27-28, co-chaired by the French Republic and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The conference aims to advance a two-state solution as the only path to just and lasting peace, enabling the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights, foremost of which is the establishment of an independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Permanent delegates confirmed the steadfast Arab position supporting the Palestinian cause, the need for a united response to end the suffering in Gaza, and backing international efforts to achieve peace in accordance with international legality. They also discussed political, legal, and diplomatic actions at the Arab and international levels to address these serious and unprecedented violations.
