Lebanese President arrives in Bahrain for official visit

Manama, July 22 (BNA): His Excellency Joseph Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic, arrived in the Kingdom of Bahrain for an official visit, during which he is scheduled to hold talks with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to enhance the strong ties between the two countries, and discuss regional and international developments.


HE President Aoun will meet His Majesty the King tomorrow at Al Qudaibiya Palace, where an official reception ceremony will be held in his honour.


HE President Aoun was welcomed by His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King; Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Salman bin Isa bin Hindi Al Mannai, Governor of Muharraq Governorate; and Mirna Khawly, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Lebanon to Bahrain.


Upon arrival in the Kingdom, HE President Aoun expressed gratitude for the invitation extended by HM the King to visit Bahrain. HE the President said that the visit underscores the longstanding relations between the two countries.


HE President Aoun noted that the visit presents a valuable opportunity to further enhance cooperation between the two countries across political, economic, and cultural domains, reflecting the strong ties that have linked their peoples over many years.


HE the President said he looked forward to the meetings with HM the King and senior Bahraini officials aimed at advancing bilateral cooperation and exchanging views on regional and international matters of mutual concern.


HE President Aoun emphasised Lebanon’s appreciation for its established relationship with Bahrain and recognised the Kingdom’s supportive role towards Lebanon within various international and regional forums, as well as its contributions to promoting stability and development in the Arab region.


HE the President highlighted that the visit is expected to mark the beginning of new avenues for strategic partnership between the two countries, particularly in the economic, investment, and tourism sectors, thereby serving the interests of both peoples and advancing their positions in a region facing complex and sensitive challenges that call for collaborative efforts to ensure security, stability, and prosperity.


His Excellency President Aoun concluded by thanking His Majesty the King and the people of Bahrain for the warm welcome, expressing his optimism that the visit would mark a productive step forward and reflect the depth of Arab solidarity, paving the way for a new chapter of advanced cooperation between Lebanon and Bahrain.
