Civil Defence Director re-elected Vice President of ICDO Executive Council

Baku, July 9 (BNA): Brigadier General Pilot Ali Mohammed Al Kubaisi, Director General of the General Directorate of Civil Defence, has been elected Vice President of the Executive Council of the International Civil Defence Organisation (ICDO) for the second consecutive term. The election took place during Bahrain’s participation in the 58th session of the ICDO Executive Council and the extraordinary session of the General Assembly, held in Azerbaijan.
The Director General expressed pride in the renewed international confidence, highlighting that the appointment reflects Bahrain’s strong performance and commitment.
He commended the support of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, and the continuous follow-up by Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security, which have contributed to enhancing Bahrain’s civil defence preparedness in line with international standards.
The sessions discussed key programmes, activities, progress reports, and the implementation of previous resolutions, as well as the election of the new Secretary General of the ICDO.
On the sidelines, Brig. Gen. Al Kubaisi held bilateral meetings with the Ministers of Emergency Situations of Russia and Azerbaijan to explore cooperation and exchange expertise in civil defence and emergency preparedness.
