Chinese Ambassador Hosts Reception
Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- Wang Yajun, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, hosted a reception at his embassy on July 9 on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the conclusion of the DPRK-China Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance.
Present there on invitation were Kang Yun Sok, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, Mun Song Hyok, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Pak Myong Ho, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Ri Chang Sik, vice-minister of Education, and officials concerned.
Members of the Chinese embassy were on hand.
Wang Yajun said at the reception that for the past 64 years since the conclusion of the treaty which confirmed the orientation of steady development of China-DPRK relations, the exchange and cooperation have been intensified in several fields to develop the traditional relations of friendship under the strategic leadership of the leaders of the two parties and the two countries.
The Chinese side would as ever firmly support the DPRK advancing along the road of independent development, he said, affirming that the spirit of friendship and mutual assistance contained in the treaty would shine forever in the future, too.
Kang Yun Sok in his speech said that the two countries have mutually supported and cooperated with each other in the struggle for safeguarding and developing socialism, the common cause, since the conclusion of the treaty which serves as the firm legal foundation for consolidating and developing the DPRK-China friendly and cooperative relations.
He stressed that he would continue displaying the spirit of the treaty and make joint efforts to steadily develop the friendly and cooperative relations in conformity with the noble intentions of the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries.
On the same day, the Chinese consulate general in Chongjin hosted a reception. -0-
