HM King affirms appreciation for government's efforts in ensuring the success of Ashoora commemoration

Manama, July 6 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa expressed his pride in the government’s efforts, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in supporting the commemoration of Ashoora. His Majesty praised the government’s commitment to ensuring the success of this significant religious occasion by providing the necessary preparations and facilities. HM King Hamad noted that Ashoora, with its profound spiritual and cultural significance, continues to stand as a key pillar of Bahrain’s longstanding tradition of religious freedom and sect diversity.

His Majesty said that this year’s commemorations were distinguished by a high level of order and discipline, reflecting Bahrain’s values as an open, harmonious, and inclusive society, an example of peaceful coexistence in a world where coexistence and cooperation have become essential in the interest of collective well-being.

HM the King commended the efforts of government bodies across various sectors, particularly in ensuring public safety and community support, and in providing the necessary overview to allow rituals to be observed freely.

His Majesty also underscored the contributions of all institutions and individuals involved, particularly the Ministry of Interior, the Jaafari Endowments Council, religious scholars, Maatam leaders, supervisory committees, and the many volunteers working on the ground. HM King Hamad expressed his appreciation for the sense of public responsibility and unity shown throughout the commemorations, and thanked all those involved for their effective coordination and smooth organisation.
