Moscow, July 6 (BNA): The Committee on International Affairs of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation organised a session to discuss the outcomes of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s participation in the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum, which was held from June 18-20.
The session was attended by Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Saati, Ambassador of Bahrain to Russia; and Andrey Svintsov, member of the State Duma and the Parliamentary Friendship Committee with Bahrain, members of the Duma.
The Committee commended Bahrain’s role as guest of honour at the forum, highlighting that the Kingdom’s participation reflects the strong ties between the two countries, which have lasted for thirty-five years since the establishment of diplomatic ties, and that it will open up broader prospects for cooperation between them. They noted that this participation confirms Bahrain’s prominent international standing, thanks to the policy of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
On his part, Ambassador Al Saati emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to further developing relations with Russia in the interests of both peoples, guided by the vision of His Majesty the King and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The ambassador also highlighted the outcomes of meetings held by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, during the forum with His Excellency Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, and senior Russian officials, as well as the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries.
