Hajj Ministry Suspends Seven Umrah Companies Over Transport Shortcomings

Jeddah, June 17, 2025, SPA -- The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has recorded violations by seven Umrah companies due to deficiencies in providing transport services to pilgrims as stipulated in their approved programs. This action comes as part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of services offered to pilgrims and visitors of the Prophet’s Mosque, and to ensure compliance with contractual obligations in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to improve the experience of pilgrims at every stage of their journey to the Kingdom.
In response, the ministry has taken regulatory measures against the violating companies, suspending their operations and liquidating their bank guarantees to cover the costs of alternative transport services for affected pilgrims. This ensures the continued delivery of services at the approved standards.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring pilgrims receive their full rights and are provided with services that meet the highest standards of quality and professionalism. It stressed that it will not tolerate negligence or breach of contractual obligations toward pilgrims.
The ministry also called on all Umrah companies and establishments to adhere strictly to approved regulations and guidelines and deliver services according to the designated schedules. It requested these services be delivered in a manner that enhances service quality and ensures the satisfaction and comfort of pilgrims and visitors during their stay in the Kingdom.
