Shura Foreign Affairs Committee receives US Congress delegation

Manama, June 17 (BNA): The Shura Council’s Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee, chaired by Deputy Chairman Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, received a delegation from the United States Congress, led by Congressman Bradley Schneider.

The meeting was also attended by members of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee of the Council of Representatives, and reviewed means to enhance cooperation and joint coordination.

Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa highlighted the bilateral relations between Bahrain and the United States, noting the importance of further developing political and economic ties to serve the interests of both nations.

Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed emphasised that Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, is committed to promoting international peace and fostering a culture of peaceful coexistence and dialogue among different civilisations and religions, through various local and international initiatives.

On his part, Congressman Schneider commended Bahrain’s role in promoting peace and coexistence in the Middle East, and emphasised the importance of strategic cooperation and regional integration between the United States and countries in the region.
