Pyongyang International Football School

 Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- In Rungna Islet of Pyongyang, there is a professional sports school for training reserve football players.
The Pyongyang International Football School with modern school building, playground, dormitory and cultural and welfare facilities is a base for training reserve football players which was built under the loving care of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un.
The respected General Secretary chose the site of the school, dispatched a construction force and named it "Pyongyang International Football School".
Going round the school one day in June 2013, he gave instructions on steadily improving the educational contents and methods as required by the developing reality and thus training more promising football players.
Over the past years, the school have created and introduced effective teaching and training methods and scientific research findings to develop the intelligence of students and increase their physical and technical abilities.
The school strengthened the teaching and training according to positions to increase the number of players with special skills and introduced various teaching and training methods combined with physical, technical, tactical and psychological training, thus making progress in improving the students' abilities.
It also developed and updated programs for putting training and coaching on a scientific basis, optical speed measuring instrument and comprehensive measuring device for physical ability, etc.
Students of the school won the AFC U-14 Girls' Regional Championship 2016 for East Zone and the Children's Festival (East Asian region).
Graduates of the school are now distinguishing themselves as forwards with score skills and as excellent organizers at the April 25 Players Team, Amnokgang Sports Team, Kigwancha Sports Team and others.
Among them are those belonging to the DPRK teams won the 2024 FIFA U-17 and U-20 women's world cups and the qualification for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup. -0-
