Finance Minister leads delegation at 123rd GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee meeting

Kuwait, June 1 (BNA): Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, led Bahrain’s delegation at the 123rd GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee meeting, held in Kuwait. The meeting was also attended by Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The meeting covered several topics related to enhancing financial and economic cooperation and integration among GCC countries. These included the outcomes of the Central Bank Governors’ meeting, the Customs Union Authority meetings, the GCC Common Market meeting, and the Committee of Heads and Directors of Tax Departments in the GCC countries meetings.
The ministers were also updated on the latest developments in free trade agreement negotiations between the GCC and other countries and economic blocs, as well as progress on the programme to achieve economic unity among GCC states.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa participated in the launch of a unified media campaign for the GCC Common Market. The campaign aims to raise public awareness of the market’s goals and benefits, and highlighting the opportunities it offers to GCC citizens in various economic domains to help drive economic growth.
