Music and Dance Performance Given to Celebrate 70th Founding Anniversary of Chongryon

 Pyongyang, May 30 (KCNA) -- A music and dance performance "Shine always, our Chongryon" was given at a theater in Tokyo, Japan on May 27 to celebrate the 70th founding anniversary of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).
Among the audience were Ho Jong Man, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, Pak Ku Ho, first vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and concurrently director of its Organizational Department, vice-chairpersons and directors of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, chairpersons of Chongryon headquarters of Kanto area, leading officials of the central organizations of Chongryon and its affiliates and compatriots and students across Japan.
Present there on invitation were advisors of the Central Standing Committee, headquarters, central organizations and affiliates of Chongryon and meritorious persons and patriotic businessmen, including honorary title holders.
Also on hand on invitation were members of diplomatic missions of Russia, China and other countries in Japan, the secretary general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, the co-representatives of the nationwide network for Japan-Korea solidarity, a member of the House of Representatives from the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan and other political, cultural and media figures of Japan.
The performance was given by members of the Kumgang-san Opera Troupe and the song and dance troupes in the regions, members of the Union of Korean Writers and Artists in Japan, compatriots from all walks of life and students.
The performance began with orchestral music "Shine Always, Our Chongryon" depicting the brilliant history of Chongryon. Put on the stage were chorus and dance "Our pride is great", kayagum ensemble "Under the sky of an alien land", national dance "Janggu Dance", etc.
The performers sang the praise of the leadership exploits of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un who made immortal contributions to the formation and development of Chongryon, and of the boundless emotion of Chongryon officials and Koreans in Japan greeting the 70th founding anniversary of Chongryon.
The audience was filled with excitement when a narration "In the Broad Bosom" was given to show the excitement of the members of the art troupe of Korean schoolchildren in Japan who took part in the New Year performance in 2025 and received the special care and the benevolent image of Kim Jong Un meeting them was shown.
The song and dance "Let Us Defend the National Flag of the Republic Generation after Generation" reflecting the lively and cheerful appearance of the students of Korean schools growing up to be pillars of Chongryon vividly showed the will of the new generations to carry forward the baton of the patriotic cause of Chongryon.
The performance was enthusiastically acclaimed by the audience.
Members of foreign diplomatic missions in Japan and Japanese personages who enjoyed the performance said that they were deeply moved by the performance, and that Chongryon is the only compatriots' organization which has conducted the patriotic movement, remaining loyal to the great leaders generation after generation abroad for 70 years while flying the national flag of the Republic. -0-
