Rice-Transplanting Accelerated in DPRK

 Pyongyang, May 30 (KCNA) -- Rice-transplanting has been accelerated in the speed 1.2 times earlier than schedule across the DPRK amid the great patriotic enthusiasm of all agricultural officials and workers and helpers and such achievements are steadily increasing.
Kangryong, Anak and Sinchon counties of South Hwanghae Province have increased the operation rate of tractors and rice-transplanting machines and used the nutritive cold-bed rice-transplanting machines and thus finished rice-transplanting in over 60 percent of paddy fields.
South Phyongan Province has increased the area of introducing the nutritive cold-bed rice seedlings into more than 80 percent. Seven cities and counties, including Phyongsong and Kaechon cities and Songchon and Pukchang counties, nearly 100 farms and more than 410 workteams have finished rice-transplanting.
Agricultural workers in Jongju City, Sonchon County and Kujang County of North Phyongan Province are scrupulously transplanting rice seedlings with the main emphasis on raising the rate of rooting.
Mangyongdae, Sadong, Ryokpho and Rangnang districts and Kangdong County of Pyongyang Municipality have completed rice-transplanting earlier than schedule as they introduced advanced farming methods including the method of cultivating rice seedlings in greenhouse.
Farms in North Hwanghae, South Hamgyong and Kangwon provinces and Kaesong Municipality are transplanting rice seedlings in every field, ensuring the number of plants per phyong. -0-
