46th ASEAN Summit Kicks Off in Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur, May 26, 2025, SPA -- The 46th Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) commenced today in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Leaders and representatives from member states have gathered to discuss enhancing regional cooperation and tackling shared challenges.
During the summit's opening address, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim underscored the importance of maintaining the geo-economic cooperation model between ASEAN, the Gulf Cooperation Council for the Arab States (GCC), and China. He described this model as a key element for building a more inclusive and sustainable future.
The two-day summit aims to strengthen regional integration and address political, economic, and security issues in the region. It serves as a crucial platform for coordinating joint actions and advancing cooperation amidst increasing regional and international challenges.
