Deputy Prime Minister receives Omani Housing Minister

Manama, May 24 (BNA): Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, received Dr. Khalfan bin Saeed Al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning of the Sultanate of Oman. The visit aimed to review the Kingdom of Bahrain’s housing plans and programmes and engage with private sector institutions in the Kingdom.

The meeting was attended by Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla emphasised the longstanding relations between Bahrain and Oman, built on mutual respect, shared heritage, and close social ties. He noted that these ties continue to strengthen under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, the Sultan of Oman.

He also commended the follow-up by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers of Oman, on joint cooperation aimed at promoting development and prosperity in both countries.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla highlighted Bahrain’s interest in expanding cooperation with Oman, particularly in the social housing sector, to develop integrated housing solutions that support national plans and shared development goals.

He emphasised the importance of aligning visions between the two countries to enrich Gulf development efforts in housing, urban planning, and sustainable development. He noted that flexible housing policies focused on quality of life can help build urban environments that meet citizens’ needs and respond to growing developmental demands, through the adoption of flexible housing policies that prioritise improving quality of life.

On his part, Dr. Al Shuaili commended the steady growth of Bahraini-Omani relation and the qualitative developments witnessed by the Kingdom in the social housing sector. He wished Bahrain and its people continued progress and prosperity.
