Housing Minister discusses cooperation with Omani counterpart

Manama, May 24 (BNA): Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, met with Dr. Khalfan Al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning of the Sultanate of Oman.
Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), and Khaled Abdulrahman Al Majed, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah), were present.
The Minister emphasised the strength of Bahraini-Omani relations and the growing cooperation across various sectors, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
Al Rumaihi highlighted the productive cooperation in the social housing sector, including opportunities for investment in housing projects and programmes, and the potential to share the Kingdom of Bahrain’s experience in this field.
She commended the Sultanate of Oman’s efforts to provide suitable housing solutions for its citizens, noting similarities with Bahrain’s approach, particularly in partnership with the private sector. She also lauded recent housing developments, notably Sultan Haitham City, as a reflection of Oman’s comprehensive transformation towards sustainable urban development under Oman Vision 2040.
Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa outlined Mumtalakat’s vision and current projects being implemented by Edamah, its real estate arm, including investment opportunities in key sectors. He emphasised Bahrain’s efforts to expand development initiatives in support of national economic growth.
He noted that Mumtalakat plays a pivotal role in advancing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s economic development in line with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and contributes to broader economic diversification.
The two sides agreed to continue cooperation and coordination, and to exchange expertise in housing and public-private partnership initiatives to support future investment prospects.
