Speaker: GCC is a model of strategic partnership for a prosperous future

Manama, May 24 (BNA): Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, sent a cable of congratulations to Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the Council’s establishment.

Al Musallam said that the GCC embodies a strategic partnership framework for a prosperous future for its member states and peoples, guided by the leadership of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC countries.

He commended the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the continued follow up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in advancing Gulf cooperation and supporting development initiatives grounded in shared goals and close ties.

Al Musallam also underlined the role of Gulf parliaments and legislative councils in advancing the GCC’s cooperative framework, coordinating positions in international parliamentary forums, and promoting the collective interests of the region’s states and peoples.

He expressed his hope for further progress and prosperity for the GCC under its unified leadership and emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to joint Gulf action that serves current and future generations.
