Saudi Arabia Highlights Biodiversity Conservation on International Biodiversity Day

   Jeddah, May 22, 2025, SPA -- The Kingdom joins countries worldwide in observing the International Day for Biological Diversity on May 22 each year, aiming to raise awareness about the critical importance of biodiversity and the need to preserve it as the foundation of life on Earth.
   This year's theme, "Harmony with Nature and Sustainable Development," underlines the interconnected relationship between ecosystem preservation and achieving sustainable development goals.
   The Kingdom's diverse environments, including deserts, mountains, coasts, and marine areas, host 65 terrestrial and marine ecosystems. These contribute to the richness of the Kingdom's biodiversity, which is home to thousands of plant and animal species.
   The National Center for Wildlife is dedicated to developing and implementing various sustainable programs focused on preserving biodiversity and fostering community engagement in effective initiatives aimed at achieving environmental sustainability.
