Finance Ministry Undersecretary holds bilateral meetings on sidelines of IsDB 2025 annual meetings

Algiers, May 21 (BNA): Yusuf Abdulla Alhumood, Undersecretary of Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, held a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group 2025 Annual Meetings, held in the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.

Alhumood met with Zhongjing Wang, Chief Executive Officer of the Multilateral Cooperation Centre for Development Finance, to discuss cooperation with development institutions.  

He emphasised the important role of development institutions in financing key programmes and priority sectors, particularly digital infrastructure, regional connectivity, and green projects. He noted that the Kingdom of Bahrain places great importance on building effective partnerships with development partners to support its economic and development priorities in line with its economic vision.

Alhumood also met with Dr. Abdallah Al Dardari, Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Arab States at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). He underlined the importance of enhancing cooperation frameworks with the UNDP, emphasising Bahrain’s commitment to supporting regional and international development efforts and promoting joint action to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals through knowledge exchange and strategic partnerships with UN institutions.

The meetings also included a review of current economic conditions in the region, an exchange of views on means to enhance cooperation, and discussions on issues of common interest.
