EU Appoints Christophe Bigot as Special Representative for Middle East Peace Process

   Brussels, May 20, 2025, SPA -- The Council of the European Union (EU) has announced the appointment of French diplomat Christophe Bigot as the new EU Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process.
   In its official statement, the council emphasized that the envoy's mission is to contribute to achieving a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace in the Middle East, based on the two-state solution and in line with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
   As part of his mandate, Bigot will support the work of the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, and oversee all EU regional activities related to the Middle East Peace Process.
