Integrated Efforts to Improve Pilgrim Experience in Madinah

   Madinah, May 19, 2025, SPA -- Joint efforts between the Madinah Region Municipality and the Madinah Development Authority are advancing steadily to enhance the experience of pilgrims, reflecting the city’s spiritual significance and the Kingdom’s commitment to serving the pilgrims. The initiatives are part of ongoing qualitative developments in the central area, designed to create a vibrant, visitor-centered urban environment.
   The enhancements include the introduction of humanized and green spaces that offer shade and comfort, along with urban designs that balance aesthetic appeal and practical functionality. The developments align with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to improve the quality of life and urban livability.
   The newly developed area features integrated commercial zones, designated seating areas, and a safe, diverse network of pedestrian and bicycle paths. It also includes specialized routes for the visually impaired, ensuring an inclusive and accessible environment for all visitors.
   As part of efforts to modernize the transportation system, roads have been rehabilitated to facilitate pedestrian movement and provide flexible, efficient transport options for different community segments.  Among the key initiatives is the launch of electric vehicles connecting the Prophet’s Mosque and the Quba Mosque. The vehicles operate within a smart guidance system that includes roads, streets, and historical landmarks, ensuring safe, smooth transportation while enriching the overall visitor experience in Madinah.
