Jawai traded in blockbuster NBA deal

Australian centre Nathan Jawai has a new NBA home after he was traded to Dallas as

Jawai was included in a four-team trade that featured All-Stars Jerry Stackhouse and
Shawn Marion, plus highly rated free agent Hedo Turkoglu.
Toronto have sent Jawai, Marion and forward Kris Humphries to Dallas, with the
Raptors in return receiving Turkoglu from Orlando, plus Maverick duo Devean George
and Antoine Wright.
In the complicated deal, Memphis have sent guard Greg Buckner to Dallas, while
receiving Stackhouse from the Mavericks, plus a second-round draft pick and some
undisclosed cash from Toronto.
Australian Boomer Jawai was selected by Indiana with the 41st pick in last year's
NBA draft before being immediately traded to Toronto.
The 208cm big man played in just six games with the Raptors in his rookie season,

The 22-year-old is no stranger to Texas, having played one season of college
basketball at Midland Texas College in 2006-07.
Jawai now joins a star-studded Mavericks team, including former league MVP Dirk
Nowitzki, veteran point guard Jason Kidd and All-Star forwards Marion and Josh
Howard.
Marion feels the Mavs will now be able to compete with the best teams in the Western
Conference, including reigning NBA champions the Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio,
Houston and Denver.
"With our talent and depth, why not?" Marion said.
