Council of Representatives Secretary General meets PUIC Secretary General

Jakarta, May 15 (BNA): Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary-General of the Council of Representatives and Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, met Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC),on the sidelines of the 19th session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States (PUIC), held in Indonesia.

The two sides discussed developing cooperation between the Parliamentary Division and the OIC Union, with a focus on enhancing legislative support mechanisms, including technical, research, and information services. The meeting also reviewed several key initiatives and programs organised by Bahrain’s Council of Representatives aimed at bolstering parliamentary effectiveness and community engagement.

Niasse commended the Bahraini Parliamentary Division for its dynamic and innovative contributions to Islamic parliamentary collaboration. He also highlighted the role of the Association of Secretaries-General within the Union in strengthening the capacities of parliaments and legislative bodies across member states.
