Bahrain’s WTO representative participates in 13th Round Table on accession

Muscat, May 14 (BNA):  Ambassador Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the World Trade Organisation (WTO), participated in the 13th China Round Table on WTO Accessions.  The event was hosted by the Sultanate of Oman from May 12 to 14, 2025, at the Diplomatic Club in Muscat, under the patronage of Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion of Oman.

 

This year’s round table was held under the theme "Advancing Arab Economies: From Strategic Accession to Global Trade Integration", with the participation of ambassadors and representatives from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, senior officials, and representatives of governments and international organisations.  The event aimed to exchange experiences and enhance dialogue on WTO accession and regional economic integration.

 

In his remarks, the Permanent Representative affirmed the important role of the WTO in supporting economic reform efforts and advancing the integration of countries into the multilateral trading system.  He also highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to support ongoing accession efforts and to strengthen regional cooperation in this field.
