Bahrain chairs meeting on Arab Strategy for Digital Health

Cairo, May 14 (BNA): Dr. Ibrahim Ali Al Nawakhda, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Health, chaired the meeting on preparing the Arab Strategy for Digital Health.
The meeting was held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States from May 12 to 13, 2025, as part of the implementation of Resolution (13) adopted at the 61st regular session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers, concerning digital transformation in healthcare services provided to citizens in Arab countries.
Dr. Al Nawakhda commended the efforts of the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Health Ministers at the League of Arab States, affirming that the meeting’s focus on digital transformation in healthcare services provided to citizens in Arab countries represents one of the key foundations for enhancing the development and sustainability of healthcare services.
The Social Affairs Sector of the League of Arab States affirmed the importance of digital technology in the health sector, describing it as essential for promoting healthcare equity, supporting awareness and prevention, ensuring comprehensive access to medical services, expediting diagnosis and treatment, and enhancing the management of health resources.
The meeting also discussed a number of related items on the agenda. It comes as part of the ongoing efforts to advance Goal 3 of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, which focuses on ensuring healthy lives and promoting wellbeing for all at all ages.
