HRH the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister meets with the UK’s Defence Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa

Manama, May 12 (BNA):  His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, today met with Vice Admiral Edward Ahlgren, the United Kingdom’s Defence Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa, at Gudaibiya Palace.

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister affirmed the shared commitment of both Kingdoms to advancing cooperation, particularly in the military and defence sectors, in a manner that benefits both countries and their peoples.

His Royal Highness highlighted the longstanding Bahraini-UK relations, characterised by a history of strategic partnerships and agreements across multiple sectors, and emphasised the importance of building on the coordination and cooperation achieved in the military domain.

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad affirmed the United Kingdom's role, alongside allied nations, in strengthening the foundations of regional security and stability, thereby contributing to both regional and international peace and development.

The latest regional and international developments were reviewed, as well as key issues of common interest.

HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Minister of Finance and National Economy, and HE Lieutenant-General Theyab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi, the Bahrain Defence Force Chief of Staff, also attended the meeting.
