Saudi Arabia Hosts High-Level Panel on E-Commerce Policies, Sustainable Development

   Geneva, May 12, 2025, SPA -- The Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations and international organizations in Geneva organized a high-level panel discussion titled "The Role of E-Commerce Policy for Sustainable Economic Development" on the sidelines of the 8th session of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on E-commerce and the Digital Economy at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
   The panel highlighted the impact of Saudi Arabia's economic reforms and infrastructure modernization on the growth of e-commerce and the digital economy, and their contribution to advancing sustainable development pathways.
   On the sidelines of the event, the Kingdom, represented by the National Competitiveness Center, signed a cooperation agreement with UNCTAD to measure e-commerce and digital economy indicators. The agreement aims to support the development of public policies in this sector and enhance the Kingdom's competitiveness in the digital economy.
