Bahrain’s parliamentary delegation joins virtual seminar on counter terrorism strategies

Manama, May 10 (BNA): A delegation from the Parliamentary Division of the Kingdom of Bahrain participated in a virtual seminar organised by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), in its capacity as coordinator of the United Nations Parliamentary Associations Coordination Mechanism on Counter Terrorism.

The delegation included Ali Abdulla Al Aradi, Member of the Shura Council; Dr. MP Ali Majid Al Nuaimi; and MP Hanan Mohamed Fardan, Member of the Council of Representatives.

The seminar aimed to present an overview of the Valletta Principles and emphasise the role of parliamentarians in their implementation. Discussions focused on the partnership approach between governments and society, recent trends in terrorist activity, and their implications for national and international strategies.

The session underscored the important role of legislators in shaping and executing effective counter terrorism strategies, in accordance with Principle 28 of the Valletta Principles, which outlines a comprehensive framework to support national and regional stability.
