Finance Minister meets Italian economic officials in Rome

Rome, Apr. 29 (BNA): Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, met Dr. Bernardo Mattarella, CEO of the Italian investment agency Invitalia, as part of Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa’s visit to Italy, heading a Bahraini delegation to enhance economic and trade ties.
The minister highlighted the strong historical ties and strategic partnership between Bahrain and Italy. He emphasised the continued commitment to developing these relations across various domains and the importance of building on existing cooperation to expand joint coordination and achieve broader benefits for both countries and their peoples.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa underlined Bahrain’s commitment to enhancing investment cooperation with the Italian Republic by making the most of the opportunities available in both countries. He also noted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s attractive and supportive investment environment, which continues to draw investment and paves the way for broader economic partnerships with countries around the world, including Italy.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa noted the importance of continued cooperation and coordination with leading investment institutions to generate more investment opportunities, develop an innovative and dynamic business environment, and support comprehensive and sustainable economic growth.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa also met with Dr. Dario Scannapieco, Director General and CEO of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), where he underscored the importance of advancing promising investment opportunities that contribute to the prosperity of both nations.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa also held a meeting with Dr. Alessandra Ricci, CEO of the Italian Export Credit Agency (SACE), where they discussed opportunities for cooperation and coordination across various sectors. The meeting also addressed ways to strengthen public-private partnerships to support sustainable economic growth and achieve shared objectives.
The meetings explored means of enhancing cooperation, exchanging expertise and best practices in finance, economy, and investment, and reviewing issues of mutual interest and recent developments in the global economy.
The meeting was attended by Noor bint Ali Al Khulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of the Economic Development Board; Khalid bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain; and Osama Abdullah Al Absi, Ambassador of Bahrain to Italy.
