FM And His Bahraini Counterpart Affirm The Importance Of Strengthening Arab Cohesion To Confront Common Challenges

Baghdad / NINA /- Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein discussed with Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani ways to develop and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries in the economic, tourism, and security fields, in addition to discussing the latest regional and international developments.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Al-Zayani praised the level of Iraqi-Bahraini relations, stressing the importance of developing them through increasing trade and investment exchange and organizing mutual visits between representatives of the public and private sectors. He also commended Minister Fuad Hussein's efforts in strengthening relations between the two countries.
For his part, Minister Fuad Hussein stressed the importance of joint work in the fields of tourism, aviation, and security, expressing the convergence of views between Baghdad and Manama on regional and international issues.
He also called for organizing joint workshops and increasing official visits to strengthen the bilateral partnership, noting that Iraq has actually begun to build a strong private sector to support the national economy, emphasizing that achieving stability is a prerequisite for development.
He pointed out that Iraq had not witnessed true stability over the past five decades under the former regime, due to wars, blockades, and internal conflicts that weakened its infrastructure.
The meeting also addressed the current Arab situation, with both sides stressing the importance of strengthening Arab cohesion to confront common challenges and work to develop effective mechanisms to achieve peace and stability in the region.
In this context, Minister Fuad Hussein emphasized that "stability is the foundation upon which development is built;" while his Bahraini counterpart emphasized that "the Arab world is in dire need of unity and mutual support, in light of the rapid changes the world is witnessing." /End
