The FM Discussed With His Iranian Counterpart, By Phone, The Latest Developments In Gaza And Lebanon, And The US Attacks On Yemen

Baghdad /NINA/- Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein discussed the latest developments in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as the US attacks on Yemen, in a phone call on Monday evening with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Araqchi.
A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: "Hussein received a phone call on Monday evening from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Araqchi.
According to the statement, the two sides discussed the latest developments in Gaza and Lebanon against the backdrop of the Israeli entity's violation of the ceasefire, in addition to the US attacks on Yemen. The Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his concern about these developments."
Iranian Minister Fuad Hussein also briefed on the content of US President Donald Trump's letter to the Iranian leadership, represented by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stressing that the Iranian government will respond to the letter.
The two ministers also discussed relations between the two countries and the need for continued communication and joint coordination.
For his part, Minister Fuad Hussein expressed his concern about the increasing escalation in the region, appreciating the step of being informed of the content of President Trump's letter and stressing his hope that the exchange of letters would contribute to opening channels for dialogue between the two sides.
