The opening ceremony of the International Nowruz Festival was held on Friday (March 15, 2025) at the iconic Azadi Square in Iran’s capital, Tehran.

The celebratory ceremony was attended by Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, Minister of Culture Abbas Salehi, and Reza Salehi Amiri, Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts. Foreign ambassadors, Iranian cultural figures, and groups of people attended the ceremony as well, which was held a week before the arrival of the Persian New Year known as Nowruz.
