President of the Republic: Regional Stability Will Only Be Achieved Through Dialogue And Understanding

Baghdad /NINA/- President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed that the stability of the region will not be achieved except through dialogue and understanding, and that escalation and foreign interventions will not lead to achieving the desired security.
A presidential statement said: "The President of the Republic received, today, Thursday, at al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, the head of the Iranian Governance and Policy Research Center /GPTT/ Ruhollah Deghani Firouzabad, and his accompanying delegation."
During the meeting, the President of the Republic spoke about the latest regional developments and the challenges facing the region, indicating that Iraq's foreign policy is based on balance and mutual respect, and rejects any policies based on polarization or escalation.
The President of the Republic also stressed, according to the statement, Iraq's position in support of the Palestinian people in obtaining their full legitimate rights and establishing their independent state on their national soil, indicating that Iraq is keen on the stability of Syria.
He pointed out the importance of enhancing scientific and technical cooperation between research institutions in the two countries, which contributes to supporting sustainable development and benefiting from mutual experiences, stressing the importance of bilateral relations between Iraq and Iran, and expanding the horizons of cooperation in a way that serves the common interests of the Iraqi and Iranian peoples.
For his part, Firouzabad stressed the depth of relations between the two countries, expressing their aspiration to expand the horizons of partnership in various scientific and technological fields, and enhance cooperation in research and innovation to serve common interests. / End
