Stenin Photo Contest exhibition opens in Belgrade

Belgrade, January 17. The works of the winners of the 10th Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest are once again exhibited in the capital of Serbia.

On January 17 through February 4, 2025, over 50 shots by photographers from Bangladesh, Great Britain, India, Spain, Italy, Russia, Syria, and South Africa can be seen in the Parobrod Cultural Center as part of the festival program of the annual Belgrade Photo Month held in the country since 2016.

The exhibition works cover a variety of topics, with a special focus on environmental issues, ethnographic and cultural diversity of the world, as well as social issues.

In her remarks at the opening ceremony, Sputnik Serbia Head Ljubinka Milinčić noted:

“It is a great joy for us to once again present the best works of the Stenin Contest in Belgrade. The first exhibition of the winners’ works in Serbia was held in 2023, and we saw genuine interest from the Serbian audience in the competition, organized by the Rossiya Segodnya media group. Together with the Belgrade Photo Month Festival, we are once again implementing this large exhibition project aimed to maintain high standards of news photojournalism and promote young and talented photographers around the world.”

Festival Director David Pujado stressed:  “This is the second time Belgrade Photo Month has collaborated on this project, and, as with the first time, we are delighted to be part of it. The quality of the works we are showcasing from today at UK Parobrod in Belgrade is exceptional. I hope many people will enjoy the exhibition and feel inspired to apply. Remember, the open call is still ongoing, and I feel truly honoured to be part of the jury for the 2025 edition”.
.
Belgrade became the fourth stop on the route of the 2024 contest road show: before it, young photographers’ works recognized as the best by the contest jury were exhibited in Moscow, Beijing, and Dar es Salaam. The exhibition tour will continue in the countries of the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.

Works can be submitted for the 11th Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest on December 22, 2024 – February 28, 2025 at the contest’s website http://stenincontest.ru in Russian and http://stenincontest.com in English.
