Iraq, Jordan Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations, Current Regional Situation

Baghdad/NINA/ - Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, met today, Wednesday, in the capital, Amman, with the Prime Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Jaafar Hassan.

The meeting, which brought the two sides together, according to a statement by Al-Mashhadani's office, addressed the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation between Jordan and Iraq in several fields, including political, economic and security, and discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in various fields in a way that contributes to enhancing stability and development in the two brotherly countries.

The meeting also discussed the current regional situation in the region, and Al-Mashhadani expressed his appreciation for the steadfast Jordanian positions in supporting Arab issues and Palestinian rights, praising the brotherly relations between the two peoples.

For his part, Jaafar Hassan stressed the importance of enhancing coordination between the two countries on regional and international issues, and joint work to achieve security and stability for the region.

The meeting also witnessed a review of many regional and international issues of common interest, and ways to enhance coordination between Jordan and Iraq at various levels, in a way that contributes to enhancing the common interests of the two countries and the peoples of the region./End
