Foreign Minister Participates in Expanded Meeting of Arab Ministerial Contact Group on Syria

Aqaba, December 15, 2024, SPA -- Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah participated on Saturday in the expanded meeting of the foreign ministers of the Arab Ministerial Contact Group on Syria, held in Aqaba, Jordan.
   The group, formed by a resolution of the Arab League, includes Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Egypt. The meeting was also attended by the foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, the current president of the Arab Summit, Qatar, and Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, alongside the foreign ministers of Türkiye, France, and the United States.
   The ambassadors of the United Kingdom and Germany to Jordan, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and the UN Special Envoy for Syria were present.
   Discussions focused on the latest developments in Syria and ways to support a transitional political process that aligns with the aspirations and choices of the Syrian people. The meeting aimed to ensure Syria’s security, stability, and territorial integrity during this critical phase.
   The meeting was also attended by Advisor to the Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Prince Musab Al-Farhan and Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairi.
