Jordan's King meets Arab ministerial committee on Syria, foreign ministers, international representatives

Amman, Dec. 14 (BNA): His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan received the Arab Ministerial Contact Committee on Syria, alongside foreign ministers from several countries and representatives of international organisations. The meeting was attended by Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
The meeting included foreign ministers from Bahrain (as the current chair of the Arab League summit), Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, the United States, France, and Turkiye, as well as the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, the UN Special Envoy for Syria, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, and the ambassadors of the UK and Germany.
During the meeting, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to HM King Abdullah II, wishing for the continued success of Jordan under his leadership
His Majesty King Abdullah extended his greetings and appreciation to HM the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, highlighting the strong ties between the two kingdoms.
HM King Abdullah II underscored that Syria's stability is a strategic interest for Arab states and the region, stressing the importance of a unified and effective international stance to safeguard Syria’s sovereignty, security, citizens, and national institutions, while respecting the choices of the Syrian people.
His Majesty King Abdullah emphasised Jordan’s commitment to providing humanitarian aid to the Syrian people and highlighted the need to create security, living, and political conditions to facilitate the voluntary return of Syrian refugees to their homeland, in cooperation with UN organisations.
